Safeguarding & Compliance
At Ocean Tuition, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We work with children and young people who may be vulnerable, out of mainstream education, or living in care, and we take our responsibility to protect and support them extremely seriously.
We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and compliance in all aspects of our work.
We are fully insured, with relevant staff trained in first aid, ensuring a safe, secure, and well-prepared learning environment for every student.
Your privacy is important to us. We are registered with the ICO and handle personal information in line with UK GDPR requirements and data protection best practices.
Enhanced DBS Checks
- All Ocean Tuition staff hold Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
- DBS checks are verified before any tutor begins work
- Regular updates and renewals are monitored
- Tutors are not permitted to deliver sessions without valid clearance
- This ensures every child we work with is supported by a thoroughly checked and approved professional.

Safeguarding Policy
Ocean Tuition operates under a robust and regularly reviewed safeguarding policy in line with UK statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
Our safeguarding approach includes:
- Clear procedures for identifying and reporting concerns
- Immediate escalation of safeguarding issues to the appropriate authorities
- Strong communication with parents, care homes, schools, and local authorities
- A child-centred approach that prioritises wellbeing, safety, and trust
All staff are trained to recognise signs of abuse, neglect, and emotional distress, and to respond appropriately and professionally.

We work in partnership with:
to ensure every child receives safe, consistent, and well-coordinated support.
Ofsted Registration
Ocean Tuition is currently in the process of registering with Ofsted.
This reflects our commitment to:
- High standards of educational provision
- Strong safeguarding and compliance practices
- Accountability and transparency
We are proactively aligning our systems, policies, and delivery with Ofsted expectations to ensure the highest quality service for all learners.
Once Ocean Tuition is fully registered with Ofsted, families may be able to access government-funded support schemes or vouchers, where available, to help contribute towards tuition fees. This can be particularly beneficial for children from low-income households or those in receipt of benefits such as Universal Credit, subject to eligibility and local authority arrangements.

- Ongoing Monitoring & Professional Standards
- Safeguarding is not a one-time check—it is an ongoing commitment.
