About Us
Ocean Tuition was founded in Walton, Liverpool in 2026 with a clear purpose: to provide high-quality, personalised education for young people who need it most.
Liverpool is a city built on diversity, resilience, and community. In recent years, the city has welcomed growing multicultural communities, bringing with them a rich mix of languages, cultures, experiences, and aspirations. While this diversity strengthens our city, it also highlights the growing need for educational support that is flexible, understanding, and truly inclusive.
At Ocean Tuition, we recognise that not every child’s journey through education is straightforward. Some students face barriers linked to language, confidence, disrupted schooling, special educational needs, social and emotional challenges, or difficult life circumstances. Too often, these young people become disengaged, overlooked, or made to feel that education simply is not “for them.”
Ocean Tuition was created to change that story.
With over 15 years of experience working across both primary and secondary education, the founder of Ocean Tuition has supported students from a wide range of backgrounds — including mainstream schools, alternative provision, SEND settings, and care home environments. Through this experience, one thing became clear: behind every struggling learner is a story that deserves to be understood, not judged.

Our Story
Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that stories shape identity, confidence, belonging, and possibility. Every person’s story influences how they see themselves, how they understand their experiences, and what they believe is possible for their future. At Ocean Tuition, this belief sits at the heart of everything we do.
We believe every story — regardless of its challenges or beginnings — has the power to create space for resilience, growth, transformation, and hope. No child should feel defined by setbacks, barriers, or past experiences.
Ocean Tuition exists to help young people rewrite the story they tell themselves — replacing self-doubt with confidence, limitation with opportunity, and uncertainty with belief in their own potential.
We understand that students are not simply exam results or data on a spreadsheet. Every child enters the classroom carrying experiences, fears, strengths, cultures, memories, and dreams. Some arrive believing they are “behind.” Some believe they are not clever enough. Some have already experienced failure so many times that they stop trying altogether.
Our role is to help rewrite that narrative.
At Ocean Tuition, teaching is not just about delivering information — it is about connection, encouragement, patience, and helping students rediscover belief in themselves. We are passionate about finding the explanation that finally makes something click. We believe in those powerful “light bulb” moments where confusion turns into confidence and a child suddenly realises:
“I understand this now.”
“Maybe I can do this after all.”
We do not give up when learning becomes difficult. We adapt, explain differently, slow down, build trust, and continue with patience and persistence until understanding is achieved. Because every child deserves someone who will continue believing in them, especially during the moments they struggle to believe in themselves.

Our Vision and Our Purpose
To become one of Liverpool’s most trusted and inspiring education providers, where every young person — regardless of background or circumstance — has access to exceptional teaching, meaningful support, and the opportunity to fulfil their full potential.
We aim to build confident learners, resilient individuals, and successful futures.
Our Purpose
Our purpose is to provide personalised education that meets students where they are academically, emotionally, and socially.
We exist to:
- close learning gaps
- rebuild confidence
- support vulnerable and disengaged learners
- raise aspirations
- strengthen literacy, communication, and critical thinking
- nurture identity, belonging, and self-belief
- help every child recognise their own potential
Whether a student is preparing for entrance exams, GCSEs, SATs, catching up after setbacks, or simply needing extra support and encouragement, Ocean Tuition is committed to guiding them every step of the way.

Our Values
Belief
Every child is capable of success. Potential should never be defined by background, circumstance, or past struggles.
Patience
Learning takes time. We remain calm, supportive, and committed until understanding is achieved.
Excellence
We strive for high standards in teaching, professionalism, communication, and student outcomes.
Inclusion
Every student deserves to feel respected, heard, represented, and supported regardless of ability or background.
Compassion
Students learn best when they feel safe, understood, encouraged, and valued.
Resilience
Challenges are part of growth. We encourage students to persevere, reflect, and continue moving forward with confidence.
Voice
Every child has a story worth hearing. We encourage students to express themselves confidently and recognise the value of their experiences, culture, and identity.
